Specialist Trainee in Obstetrics and Gynaecology

Tanya is a senior specialist trainee in Obstetrics and Gynaecology. She is a third year PhD fellow at King’s College London funded by the NIHR. Tanya is working with the NIHR Global Health Research Unit on Health System Strengthening in Sub-Saharan Africa (ASSET) focussing on care pathways for hypertensive disorders in pregnancy in Ethiopia. Tanya is also coordinating the HAPPEE Project Partnership (funded by MRC/AHRC) in Haiti and Zimbabwe. HAPPEE aims to engage local communities in order to understand contextual barriers to care for pre-eclampsia and to collaborate with creative artists to develop educational tools to help overcome these. Tanya has previously worked clinically in rural and urban under resources settings including in The Gambia and India.
